SAULT STE. MARIE INNOVATION CENTRE
This 30,000 SF Canadian data centre, located at the centre of the Great Lakes along the US border, presents an opportunity to tie into two telecommunications backbones, multiple fibre providers and path diversity. The location of this facility, with its access to an abundance of natural water resources, has seen its local renewable power production reach in excess of 600MW. This has led to the city of Sault Ste. Marie claiming the title of “Alternative Energy Capital of North America”.
The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre has access to government funding which, together with the free cooling techniques afforded by the Canadian climate, can further reduce the operating costs of the facility. This highly-secure facility can output 2MW with an annualized PUE of 1.2 or better. As the only Tier III, purpose-built data centre in Northern Ontario, this facility is 100% Canadian owned and operated and will meet the most demanding customers requiring high reliability and physical security.
